Most of the time, individuals who have a harder time dealing with chronic pain tend to “catastrophize”, which can ultimately make matters worse where they don’t necessarily need to be. As humans, we are flexible and adaptive. Tapping into these resources can ultimately improve your outlook and quality of life.
In addition, interventional pain management techniques can be used as well. They include trigger point injections, radiotherapy and even ultrasound. Ultrasound is a common tool used by physiotherapists in combination with other exercises. Practiced regularly they can lead you to on to the path of recovery.
Other avenues include Tai Chi & Acupuncture. Tai Chi has been shown to help with and improve on stiffness and pain. Including low back pain, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Acupuncture has been shown to help with pain reduction and improving overall quality of life. All great options that you can seek out and try to take a multi-modal approach to your pain management regiment.
