Motivation and Goal Attainment: Tips On How To Stay Consistently Motivated

Setting goals is important. Staying motivated long enough to see them through to completion can be very challenging for most people. Motivation comes and goes, but how can you keep it consistent to get you through rough patches and moments of negativity? Many books have been written on the topic and it all boils down to a few key points to help you get started to keep you on track. Motivation isn’t something that can be purchased, but there are multiple ways you can “tap” into your internal resources to keep you consistently motivated for any type of project you are looking to complete. It takes work, but once you figure out how to make it work for you it’s almost magical. This article aims to outline some key points you can start working on today. It also shows you how hypnosis and self-hypnosis can help you along in your journey.

We’ve all probably experienced similar scenarios. A great idea comes along and inspires us to tackle a new project, goal or objective. That feeling of excitement comes in and we think of all the possibilities of what it can lead too. This may last for a few days or even a couple of weeks, all depending. Then slowly and steadily we begin to lose track of our objective, disappointment and negativity starts to set in. Then just like that, we get discouraged and most of us give up all together. This can turn into a vicious cycle of self-sabotage for some, especially if the goal or project is significantly larger in size. The good news is, if you consciously pinpoint the areas that need to be worked on you can overcome this cycle. With some effort and work you can be well on your way to staying consistently motivated to accomplish all of your short and long term projects and goals.

Tips On How To Stay Motivated Many articles on the web provide great starting points to getting you on the right track. I’ve outlined some commonly known tips here for you so you can get started today.

  • Once you’ve set a goal, visualize it as completely as possible. Trying to get in as much detail as possible. In addition, take some time to visualize the possible steps needed to attain this goal. Once complete, take a few moments to visualize the “goal image” and complete with a successful end result in mind. The more vivid the goal image, the more motivation it will give you to stick with your plan to completion.

  • List all the reasons you would like to accomplish this goal. Doing this will help you avoid any distractions of trying to accomplish this goal. In addition, it is believed that writing things down will help you create a more vivid connection to what you are trying to accomplish.

  • Break the goal down into smaller portions and set intermediary milestones and rewards. One of the major causes of procrastination is by trying to accomplish a big goal all at once. This will probably overwhelm you and my start to cause you stress when trying to think of accomplishing it. To avoid falling into this negative cycle, it is better to break your task down into small realistic steps and only do them one at a time.

  • Develop a strategy, but be prepared to change course if it is needed. By understanding that obstacles may present themselves, keeping yourself flexible will allow you to change course easily and continue on. Like those who achieve great success, you should keep at your goal until you find a solution to the obstacle or block. Keep working on a realistic solution until you are able to overcome it.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. Even if you think you could theoretically accomplish your objective alone, there is an important value in sharing your plan. By doing this and asking for help, you sometimes realize you might have overestimated your abilities. By asking for help, it will help you re-evaluate your plans so you can avoid possible disappointment or blocks.

How Can Hypnotherapy and Self-Hypnosis Help You With Motivation? Hypnotherapy can help you with motivation. It has the ability to help you relax, focus and communicate your desires at a deep subconscious level. By feeding your subconscious mind positive affirmations it has the ability to amplify your current state. I’ve outlined a few specific points here:

  • It can change the way you perceive challenges and obstacles that lay in the path of your goal. Positive imagery and visualization can help you keep your levels of motivation up for longer periods of time.

  • With work and persistence it can help you develop a new found sense of discipline. This can be achieved by practicing self-hypnosis regularly.

If you've been struggling with your goals in 2018 so far, hypnotherapy may be a suitable option to get you back and keep you on track.
